2009 Dinner and Movie Night on the Lawn

Dear Rowan Students and Families,

You are invited to attend and enjoy Rowan Elementary Outdoor Dinner and a Movie Night to be held Thursday evening, September 24, 2009 (FRIDAY IS AN INSERVICE DAY). This movie is to welcome everyone back to school for what will be a great year at Rowan Elementary and spend the time of enjoyment with fellow classmates, parents and staff. Bring a lawn chair or blanket (you may want to bring a plastic garbage bag to put under your blanket to keep dry from the dew) and be prepared for a great night to be had by all. IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, please call my voice mail at 724-776-1518 ext. 158 for a recorded message or email me at manipolemd@svsd.net and the automated prompt you inform you as to the status of movie night. The Rain Date will be Friday, September 25, 2009.

This event will serve as the kickoff for our fundraising for the Highmark Caring Place. The Caring Place champions the cause of grieving children by creating awareness of their needs, providing programs for grieving children and families, and empowering the community to effectively serve grieving children. More information about this organization can be found at http://www.highmarkcaringplace.com. 

The children will have the opportunity to vote for the movie of their choice by contributing money in a jar marked with their movie choice either in lunch or PE class! The movie receiving the most amount of money donated will be our feature presentation. Last week, the students compiled a list of movies and here are the top 5 choices:                            Top  Movie Choices:

PICNIC on the LAWN:

In addition, we will be offering a dinner package from the options listed on the back at a reduced cost from Fox’s Pizza Den in Cranberry. Pizza will be delivered every 20 minutes based on the time that you indicate on the reverse of this page. Please return all orders with payment in the form of a check made payable to “Fox’s Pizza” in the amount indicated next to your choice (items have applicable taxes included in the price) no later than Monday, September 21st at 4:00 pm. 

                                                                Schedule of Events:

v      September 15^th – September 23rd : Movie voting through money donation by the children.

v      September 21st: All Pizza/Dinner reservations should be returned to Mike Manipole with payment.

v      September 24^th: MOVIE NIGHT:

                                6:00 – 7:15:        Pizza Deliveries as per reservation for Picnic on the Lawn.

                                6:00 - 7:15:        Dinner, Music and Cartoons on the Lawn

                                7:30 approx.:    FEATURE MOVIE PRESENTATION
